The RESET Process
This is how we do it.
RESET is an acronym for our process: Ready, Empty, Sort, Edit, Transform.

Ready your space and yourself.
We’ll get the space ready—ensure we have enough work surfaces, get plenty of boxes for giveaways, and so on—and we’ll also provide you with some simple tools to “dig in” and discover some of the reasons why it may be difficult to part with your things. For most clients, just understanding can help them let go, and makes the RESET process that much more worthwhile.
Let it all out!
We’ll dive right in…and take everything out. So if we’re doing a kitchen RESET, then every kitchen item—from the jars in the spice drawer to the coffee maker you keep out in the garage— comes out. Having everything out feels overwhelming to almost all clients, but is crucial to doing a thorough and transformational RESET…and we’ll be alongside you to calm your fears and keep things moving.
It’s actually sort of fun.
Once everything’s out, we’ll put “like” things together. For a kitchen RESET, this means staging serving platters in one area, bakeware in another, gadgets and tools elsewhere, and so on. Seeing similar items together is really powerful and gives us a solid sense of what you have as we move on to editing; and it’s during this step that clients typically start feeling energized.
Hold on…it’s time to let go.
It’s up to you to decide what stays and what goes, but we’ll be by your side along the way. For some clients, it’s a winding road of stories and memories to share; for others, it’s much more straightforward—there’s no right way to do it. We’ll also determine where to donate giveaways and advise on other creative ideas (like clever ways to memorialize keepsakes). Most clients start feeling a huge sense of accomplishment and excitement during the edit phase.
Let the transformation begin!
We’ll find a logical “home” for everything based on your use patterns, lifestyle, and preferences. Using creative yet practical solutions, we’ll set up “zones,” determine what stays “onsite” versus what’s stored “offsite” (in another room or area), and ultimately maximize every corner of the space to make it perfectly suited to your needs. As we transform the space, most clients start feeling a sense of peace and clarity as they see the space come together.
